Texas law enforcement officers put themselves in harm’s way every day, and to target those who protect our community in such a senseless and vicious way as was done in Dallas Thursday night is shocking and reprehensible. I have spoken with Mayor Mike Rawlings and Chief David Brown of the Dallas Police Department to express my concerns, and to offer support for the families of the victims as well as any help I can provide.

My condolences are with the families of the officers who lost their lives in this horrific attack. And my thoughts continue to be with the injured, their families, and the entire Dallas community following this unspeakable tragedy.
