U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Immigration subcommittee, made the following statement Friday regarding this week’s smuggling incidents:"The criminals who preyed on these families will be brought to justice. Their callous and willful actions not only claimed lives and endangered others, but threaten the national security of the United States.”
