WASHINGTON– U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) and U.S. Congressman Mac Thornberry (TX-13) released the following statements after President Trump signed the John D. Dingell, Jr. Conservation, Management, and Recreation Act  into law.  This legislation includes their Red River Gradient Boundary Survey Act, which requires the necessary gradient boundary survey of the 116-mile stretch of the Red River between Texas and Oklahoma.

“After years of uncertainty, Texas families who live and own land along the Red River can rest easy that the federal government has no rightful claim to their property,” said Sen. Cornyn.  “I’m grateful to President Trump for signing this bill into law and to Congressman Thornberry for ushering it through the House.  Together, we are delivering for North Texans.”

“The President’s signature on this bill means that ownership issues along the Red River should be resolved for good,” said Congressman Thornberry.  “I am very grateful for Senator Cornyn’s perseverance in making sure that land owners’ rights are protected.”
