With the Zika virus at our doorstep, Senate Democrats blocked critical funding for research and prevention for the third time this week. Recently in Houston I saw the hard work being done by public health officials to help guard against the virus, but their efforts cannot continue without a federal response. We cannot afford to put politics ahead of the health of Texans, and I will continue fighting to get the resources necessary to protect our state.
