When it comes to governing, many of the best ideas begin right here in Texas.

Programs to support America’s bravest men and women are no different. Legislation I’ve cosponsored, the State Outreach for Local Veterans Employment Act, would allow other states to follow in the footsteps of Texas and determine on their own which state agency is best suited to administer federal funds to help veterans find jobs.

This alternative to the Washington-imposed, cookie-cutter approach has already been successful in Texas. Now by bringing it nationwide, we can give states more flexibility to better serve those who have given so much in service to our country.
