Desafortunadamente, los estudiantes que no tienen acceso a educaci&oacute;n STEM de alta calidad pueden tener menos oportunidades en estos campos&rdquo;,<\/em> manifest&oacute; el senador Cornyn.&nbsp;<em>&ldquo;Esta legislaci&oacute;n ayudar&iacute;a a garantizar que los estudiantes en &aacute;reas rurales puedan acceder a los mismos recursos STEM que sus compa&ntilde;eros urbanos para prepararlos para trabajos relacionados con la ciencia y la tecnolog&iacute;a altamente calificados y con salarios altos&rdquo;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><u>La <em>Ley de Educaci&oacute;n STEM Rural<\/em>:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ordenar&iacute;a al secretario de Comercio que establezca un concurso de premios para fomentar ideas innovadoras para implementar conectividad de banda ancha en comunidades rurales;<\/li>\n<li>Instruir&iacute;a al director de la Fundaci&oacute;n Nacional de Ciencias (NSF) para establecer un grupo de trabajo para abordar los desaf&iacute;os y oportunidades de investigaci&oacute;n para mejorar el acceso de banda ancha.&nbsp;Se requerir&iacute;a que el grupo de trabajo informara sus hallazgos al Congreso;<\/li>\n<li>Ordenar&iacute;a al director de la NSF que proporcione subvenciones para apoyar la capacitaci&oacute;n de maestros STEM en escuelas rurales, realizar investigaciones para identificar las barreras que enfrentan los estudiantes rurales en la educaci&oacute;n STEM y establecer asociaciones entre los colegios comunitarios y las escuelas secundarias rurales.
