WASHINGTON—U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) today announced his introduction of a Senate resolution recognizing September 15 – October 15 as Hispanic Heritage Month:“Texas and America are made better every day because of the contributions of Hispanic-Americans,” said Sen. Cornyn.  “As the representative of more than 11 million Hispanic-Americans in Texas, I’m proud to honor Hispanic Heritage Month for the twelfth year in a row.”Last week, Sen. Cornyn introduced a resolution recognizing National Hispanic-Serving Institutions Week in honor of the roughly 96 HSIs in Texas.  He has led both resolutions each of the past 12 years.  Sen. Cornyn is also author of the National Museum of the American Latino Act, which would authorize the Smithsonian Institution to create a museum honoring American Latinos.
