WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) released the following statement after the Senate Finance Committee voted unanimously to advance the nomination of Janet Yellen to be Secretary of the Treasury to the Senate floor:
“Janet Yellen is well-qualified with a wide breadth of experience, and that’s why I supported her despite our significant policy disagreements,” said Sen. Cornyn. “I hope she will work with conservatives to find consensus on these areas, namely taxes and government spending, should she be confirmed.”
