WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) released the following statement marking the two-year anniversary of Hamas’ unprovoked attack on Israel and calling for the return of all hostages, including Americans, being held by Hamas:

“Two years ago, we witnessed evil in its purest form as Hamas terrorists launched an unprovoked attack on America’s closest ally in the Middle East, Israel. But in the face of devastation, Israel did not bend, but rather became the embodiment of resilience and strength as it fought for its very right to exist against this modern-day evil.”

“I commend President Trump for working tirelessly to ensure lasting peace in the region and today I join him and Texas’ Jewish community in honoring the innocent lives lost on October 7th, calling for the return of all hostages, and reiterating our unwavering support for Israel.”
