Senator Cornyn

I’m Listening

July 27, 2020

I hope you’re staying safe amid this new normal. Just wanted to give you a quick update on what I’ve been up to during the coronavirus outbreak and how the feedback I’ve received from Texans will directly impact the next round of coronavirus relief.

I’ve recently spoken with the mayors and city leadership across Texas – including Dallas, Houston, Fort Worth, Tyler, Corpus Christi, Plano, Midland, El Paso, Austin, San Antonio, and others to hear how those cities are handling the outbreak. They gave me incredibly helpful feedback on how the CARES Act is affecting their cities, and what additional help they will need to combat the coronavirus.

I’ve hopped on video calls with health care providers, medical researchers, educators, veterans, and small business owners from all over the state.

From big cities like Dallas and Houston and Austin, to rural communities and small towns across Texas in Eagle Pass and Texarkana and San Angelo. I’ve also held several telephone town halls in different areas across Texas.

Texans’ input is invaluable in figuring out how Congress can respond to the outbreak, and I’m working to make sure the needs of folks across Texas are taken care of in the next round of relief.

I’d still like to hear from you and how Congress can best help you weather this storm. Your voice will be critical when it comes to what priorities I’m pushing for in the next round of stimulus.

Please visit my website to leave a comment and tell me how else I can help. We’re in this together, and it’s so important that we look out for each other these days.

Stay safe out there.

For Texas,

John
