VIDEO: Cornyn: Kerry’s Solar Panel Comment ‘Insult’ to Texas Energy Workers

January 28, 2021

WASHINGTON – Today on Fox News’ America’s Newsroom, U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) discussed U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry’s suggestion that those working in traditional energy jobs who may be at risk of losing their employment due to the Biden Administration’s energy policies can simply find jobs manufacturing solar panels. Excerpts of Sen. Cornyn’s interview are below, and video can be found here.

“This is really more of an ideological statement by the Administration, but it’s so hopelessly out of touch. This idea that the people who are put out of work by, let’s say canceling the Keystone Pipeline, can go to work making solar panels is really an insult to the people who work day in and day out providing for their families.”

“There are clearly things we can do to make things better when it comes to emissions, but this whole idea that we are going to immediately transition to the Green New Deal, put millions of people out of work, is just fantasy.”
